Use of Thermal Imaging In Veterinary Care

Posted by Victor Saunders on Apr 17, 2016 1:11:17 PM

Animals are unable to explain to us when they hurt or ache. Many times this can result in late diagnostics when they are injured, which in some cases can even lead to fatal results for the animal.

Using a thermal imaging camera to check animals has many advantages. The latest thermal technology has made these devices a standard tool for veterinary diagnostics.

Thermal Imaging for HVACR

Posted by Victor Saunders on Apr 14, 2016 1:17:36 PM

Heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems require regular maintenance. When working properly, the machines must keep humidity levels and temperature within certain parameters, while effectively filtering out pollution. Using thermal imaging helps determine that these machines and their components are operating properly and that air quality is not compromised, ensuring optimal performance.

The practice of using Thermal Imaging Cameras have  become extremely popular in this industry and has proven to be a valuable tool for diagnostic and preventive maintenance in all types of HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) applications. Using the latest technology, Opgal® has created compact Thermal Devices that provide early detection and allow solutions to be carried out before breakdowns occur.

The simple operation requirements and low cost of some of Therm-App® thermal cameras make them an ideal tool for the HVACR industry.

Thermal Imagers can identify:

  • Poor circulation in radiators
  • Discontinuities in pipe routes in under floor heating systems
  • Leaking pipes
  • Poor performance of mechanical and electrical units
  • Airflow distribution
  • Temperature distribution

A Thermal Device detects and measures different temperature scales. In addition, when the device is coupled with software it can create a fast and accurate report of their inspection.

Thermal imaging during industrial and mechanical inspections

Posted by Victor Saunders on Apr 14, 2016 1:15:39 PM

The use of Thermography  during industrial and mechanical inspections has become easier and much more affordable than ever before. Having access to a thermal imaging  camera can give you the benefit of seeing things that are not normally visible to the naked eye. one of the main advantages of thermal cameras is their ability to clearly detect damage early enough to prevent minor problems from turning into major ones.

By using a thermal imaging camera during industrial and mechanical inspections, users are able to eliminate lots of the damage otherwise caused by invasive inspections. It's  a non-invasive, non-contact, and non-destructive inspection method.  In addition, users can examine components which they were not previously able access. This benefit can save time and money, which can be put to better use analyzing the inspection, creating a report and planning a solution.

Thermal Cameras for wild life observations

Posted by Victor Saunders on Apr 14, 2016 1:15:07 PM

There are many ways to observe wildlife.  One new method is Compact Thermal Devices, which offer a great addition to this hobby and profession. Compact Thermal Devices allow you to observe birds and animals day or night, in any sort of weather conditions. According to one wildlife photographer, they "give you a window into the other half of animals lives, offering 24/7 access to their behavior and taking animal watching to a whole new level".

Using a thermal device enables you to track and follow animals in their natural habitat, because thermal devices convert heat energy emitted by animals into a clear thermographic picture, revealing their location and making them stand out against the backdrop of trees and plants that usually sheild them from detection.  It allows you to locate and observe wildlife from a distance that won't disturb them, without being detected or scaring them away, which is why it’s a great tool for anyone with a passion for the outdoors.

Thermal Cameras for Security

Posted by Victor Saunders on Apr 14, 2016 1:14:33 PM

Modern Thermal Imaging devices offer a huge advantage in the field over traditional night vision. One neat feature of thermal cameras is that they do not need light to read a scene or produce an image because they detect infrared radiation (IR). IR is a heat signature that thermal devices"see". The infrared radiation is measured and converted into a visible image on the screen. This makes them ideal for zero light surveillance, and means that they can operate in all weather conditions, even thick fog. For these reasons thermal devices are extremely popular in the field of security.

Thermal Imaging devices for security are widely used for:

  • Border security
  • Law enforcements
  • Government premises
  • Schools
  • Retail outlets
  • Airports
  • Military establishments
  • Private homes
